From the road, at the crux of Ann Arbor-Saline and Main, all the orange bicycles and prominent corner marquee of the new Orange Theory Fitness obscures the fact that Underground Printing is still there, just smaller. Rishi Narayan, local co-founder of the T-shirt printing and campus indicia giant that is now in sixteen Midwestern college towns, says when they rented this spot “it was an all-or-nothing proposition, so we went all. We had always been open to splitting the spot if we had a good partner.” During the work, “we were never closed, just dark and tight for awhile, but now the tarp is down.”
Underground Printing, which bought out Moe Sport Shops in 2010 and kept the name, is still open in all its other Ann Arbor locations too: South U, North U, and Main St. downtown.
