When we reported last month that Rally House was taking over M Den’s stores on S. Main and S. State, corporate spokesperson Colin Novick said “it was something that we’ve always had a hope for: to get a bigger presence in Ann Arbor.”

He wasn’t kidding. The Kansas-based team merchandise retailer has since opened two more locations in town, adding stores on the west and south sides to complement its downtown and Arborland locations.

The new Maple Village store is the only one with exclusively U-M-themed offerings. It had been in the works for months but was put on hold when Rally House won the September auction of the former M Den assets, including a warehouse full of merchandise, says Steve Gasparovic, one of the managers there.

Its other manager, Sarah Newman, was busy at Briarwood Mall on the opening day of their latest launch, in the center-court double storefront that housed the M Den and its Victors Collection until August. Though the lease was signed just a few weeks earlier, she says Rally House’s strong local teamwork helped them open in time for the holiday season.
