“Music in the Park”: Ann Arbor Civic Band Summer Concert Series

Every Wed., June 17–July 22. J. Nick Smith directs the venerable Civic Band in this popular local outdoor summer tradition. Carl Grapentine announces. Food trucks. Bring a picnic and blanket and relax on the grass. Tonight: “... With Liberty and Justice for All,” an Independence Day–themed program of music, features Robert Jager’s Esprit de Corps and Sousa’s The Liberty Bell, as well as Robert Bowden’s Armed Forces Salute and John Williams’ Olympic Fanfare and Theme, along with other works. Also, Andrews Sisters tribute act, the ABC Sisters, performs music from the 1940s like “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” and “I’ve Got a Gal in Kalamazoo” with the Depot Town Big Band. 7:30–8:30 p.m., Burns Park, 1300 Baldwin.
