County public defender Delphia Simpson and her staff provide court-appointed legal counsel for adults who are determined to be unable to pay for a lawyer and who are charged with felonies or misdemeanors, and for juveniles charged with delinquencies or who are victims of neglect or abuse. The office also handles all criminal, juvenile, and special civil law appointments, as well as services related to bond reduction hearings, Friend of the Court matters, personal protection orders, probation violations, diversions, and extraditions.
