Yes, Ann Improv Festival

June 24–27. This new festival features performances and workshops by over 50 improv teams from 12 states, from local groups to nationally recognized touring troupes. They perform everything from comedy games to improvised songs to unscripted theater, based on audience suggestions. Kids under 18 must have adult accompaniment. Food & drink for sale. Tonight: Improv Showcase (7, 8, 9, & 10 p.m., Hear.Say, $15). Four hour-long blocks, each with performances by three different improv groups. Various times, Hear.Say Brewing + Theater, 2350 W. Help us remove herbaceous invasive species, like Dame's Rocket and Garlic Mustard, from West Scio Preserve!
We recommend dressing for the weather, but noting there is a potential for ticks to be present. West Scio is also known for mosquitos. We highly recommend long sleeves, long pants, and closed toed shoes. You may also bring any personal gear you wish to use, like bug nets (we will have some extra).
We will aim to work on herbaceous plants, but there is potential to do woody invasives or park clean up (trash removal). All necessary tools and materials will be provided.

“Investigate Labs”: U-M Museum of Natural History

The newest program lets participants try out simulated snake senses to experience the world as if they were a snake. Tonight in the KidZone: career night (5 p.m.) with Washtenaw Intermediate School District.
In the Annex Tent: “Being Black in America” (5 p.m.) an immersive installation by local artist Asha Jordan presented for the Washtenaw County Bicentennial by the Advisory Council on Reparations Community Engagement Committee.
On the Power Center Lawn: a Full Body Sculpt workout (5:30 p.m.) led by an Ann Arbor YMCA instructor.
On the O&W Grove Stage: Detroit singer-songwriter Lorian Janine (5 p.m.), and Schmaltz (5:50 p.m.), a local band with a repertoire of klezmer-funk originals and klezmer classics.
On the Rackham Stage: Al Bettis (6:45 p.m.), a Detroit singer-songwriter whose music blends jazzy acoustic guitar with thoughtful, complex R&B lyrics, and Jive Colossus (8 p.m.), a local 10-piece Afro-Caribbean, funk, rock, and blues dance ensemble with a killer horn section.
The music is followed at 9:45 p.m. by a screening of Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, John Hughes’ beloved 1987 road movie/buddy picture about holiday travel gone awry.
