“Birding Watkins Lake Preserve”: Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission

“Investigate Labs”: U-M Museum of Natural History

The newest program lets participants try out simulated snake senses to experience the world as if they were a snake. June 3: “El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego.” Live (Sat.) & prerecorded (Wed.) broadcast of the Metropolitan Opera’s production of U-M alum Gabriela Lena Frank’s 2022 opera, a magical-realist portrait of Mexico’s painterly power couple Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Featuring a libretto by Pulitzer Prize–winning playwright Nilo Cruz, the story is a reversal of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth, with Frida leaving the underworld on the Day of the Dead and reuniting with Diego. 1 p.m. $25.
