We received 177 entries correctly identifying the Fake Ad for Porcupine Mountain Sports on page 90 of the May Observer. The ad copy contained the last name of the previous month’s winner, “Reichert,” in the description of the “REI Chertavious” sit-down paddleboard (i.e., canoe).

Suzanne Butch spotted the similarities between a sit-down paddleboard and the more traditional vessel. “When Personnel has become Human Resources and Housekeeping is Environmental Services,” she wrote, “canoes have become sit-down paddleboards with sides.”

“Wow, a sit-down paddleboard,” Steve Worden wrote. “Why didn’t the native peoples think of that?”

Judy Taylor got the joke, too. “Love the humor in this one,” she wrote. “Sit-down paddleboard to describe a canoe. Once again you have excelled, Czar!”
