Ann Arbor’s third Noodles & Company opened on West Stadium in a much-remodeled former KFC. All three (the others are on State St. and in Arborland) and about a dozen more in Michigan are owned by Pasta Per Trio. Mike Endres, marketing director, says that Noodles has recently changed the presentation–“pictures on the menu and so forth, to try to make it a little easier for people to move outside their comfort level” and try the Japanese pan noodles or the Indonesian peanut saute. While the menu does feature some non-noodle dishes, the whole point of the place is noodle dishes from around the world, and what do you think people go for? If you just read about the Lunch Room, you might not be surprised that, when it comes down to it, people want their mac and cheese. “Definitely the mac and cheese, at all locations, even on campus,” says Endres.

This is one of the few Noodles & Company locations with a drive-thru window (it was already there from KFC days). But, as the signage makes clear, the drive-thru is only a pick-up window for people who have already ordered ahead.
