“Unless the commercial scene of Ann Arbor has changed hugely, the fake ad for this month is for Hirsute Yourself on page 84,” Nishant Kheterpal emailed. “I applaud whoever wrote this one–it was really difficult to find the name … I’m not within the target audience–the 5 o’clock shadow for men in my family is more like the dead of night!”

Kheterpal’s was one of 148 correct entries. “That ad stood out as fake immediately as soon as I read the copy,” Rebecca Sweeton writes, “but I had a hard time finding where last month’s winner’s name fit in. My husband found it ‘mustacHE IN ONE Night.'”

“We searched for the fake ad this month and figured it would be easy with the name of last month’s winner being so unique,” wrote Jason and Renia Kahn. “But, it wasn’t! Well done! … After we stopped laughing (and explaining what hirsute means to our almost 7-year-old), we finally found the name cleverly hidden at the end of the mustache.”

James Pluta’s entry was drawn as our winner. He’s taking his gift certificate to Metzger’s.

To enter this month’s contest, find the Fake Ad in the October issue and follow the instructions in the box at the bottom of the page. The Fake Ad always contains the name of last month’s winner in some form.
