TheRide’s main office is at 2700 South Industrial. (734) 973–6500. Mon.–Fri. 8 a.m.–5 p.m. The central boarding point in Ann Arbor is the Blake Transit Center, 328 S. Fifth Ave. Lobby open Mon.–Fri. 7 a.m.–11 p.m., Sat. 7:15 a.m.–11 p.m., and Sun. 7:30 a.m.–7 p.m. The central boarding point in Ypsilanti is the Ypsilanti Transit Center, 220 Pearl St. Lobby open Mon.–Fri. 7 a.m.–11 p.m., Sat. 7 a.m.–10 p.m., and Sun. 8 a.m.–7 p.m. Sign up for MyAlerts for changes to TheRide bus service and detours/delays at theride.org. Service hours for most routes are Mon.–Fri. 6:30 a.m.–11:45 p.m., Sat. 8 a.m.–10:45 p.m., and Sun. 8:15 a.m.–7:15 p.m.
Fare is $1.50 for fixed-route bus service. Transfers are free and valid for 90 minutes. Students in grades K–12 ride for $.75. Children age 5 & under ride free.
The MRide program allows U-M faculty, staff, and students with a valid yellow MCard to ride regularly scheduled buses at no charge. Thirty-day unlimited-ride passes ($45, $22.50 for K–12 students and Fare Deal cardholders) can be purchased online, at the Blake Transit Center, TheRide’s main office, Michigan Union, and these Bank of Ann Arbor locations: 125 S. Fifth Ave., Traver Village on Plymouth Rd., 801 W. Ellsworth, 2240 W. Stadium, and 7 W. Michigan Ave. in Ypsilanti. Fare Deal cards allow people ages 60–64, people with a Medicare or Medicaid card, or certification through an authorized agency to ride for $.75. GoldRide cards allow people age 65 & older to ride fixed routes free of charge. Many downtown Ann Arbor businesses also offer the go!pass to their employees; this card enables employees to board fixed-route service at no cost.
FlexRide on-demand service provides connections to TheRide’s fixed-route bus system and to other destinations. Call (734) 794–0377 or visit myflexride.org to make a reservation. FlexRide Night and HolidayRide provides a shared-ride service when TheRide’s fixed-route service is not operating. Visit theride.org or call (734) 528–5432 to reserve a trip. Free Park & Ride lots are at Plymouth Rd. and US–23, Green near Baxter, Pioneer High School, Miller at M–14, State north of Eisenhower, and 220 Pearl in Ypsilanti (which requires a free hang tag). From these lots, buses run downtown and to U-M campuses. Shared-use Park & Ride spaces can be found at Meijer (3825 Carpenter, Ypsilanti) and the Washtenaw County Service Center (4125 Washtenaw, Ann Arbor). A-Ride is a shared-ride service for people who are eligible under the Americans with Disabilities Act and whose disability prevents them from riding the regular fixed-route buses. Service is provided in lift equipped vehicles. A-Ride card holders can also ride fixed-route service at no cost.
GroceryRide. (734) 973–6500. Provides weekly group trips, $.75 each way, to grocery stores from select senior housing complexes in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti.
