An independent pizza and sub shop has replaced a recently closed Little Caesars in the Plymouth Road Mall. Fred Ansari opened La Piazza Pizza & Subs on January 9 with hot pepperoni slices at the ready, even as some kitchen equipment and permanent signage awaited arrival.
Owner of Village Gas & Mart in Manchester and the Subway franchise inside, Ansari personally developed the recipe for the pizza dough, which is made from scratch daily, he says. Full pies range from $7 to $19. Anytime “quick picks” combine a slice with a salad or chicken wings.
Six grilled sub choices each boast one-third of a pound of meat, and Ansari is looking for a local vendor to upgrade his initial choice for sub buns. Delivery via DoorDash was still pending at press time.
