We received 157 entries correctly identifying the Fake Ad for Boundaries Books on page 70 of the December issue. Our winner, Elizabeth Munyon, is taking her gift certificate to Metzger’s.

“This month’s fake ad is for the Christmas Venison Cookbook,” writes Tom Weeks. “Last month’s winner’s name is contained in the single word ‘kitCHEN’ on line 2. Only someone as cold as Walter Hobbs, Buddy’s mercenary biological father in Elf, could write a Christmas reindeer meat cookbook!”

Be that as it may, a surprising number of our readers could have put the cookbook to good use.

“Living out here in the country on largely natural (much of it wooded) 10 acres,” writes Susan Horvath, “no surprise that we have a hunter friend who hunts on our property every year… who got a buck on first day of archery season this year… and another buck on first day of gun season… who gave us a portion of his catch… so was really looking forward to the Christmas Venison Cookbook… until I realized it was the
Fake Ad!”

“Is this the perfect gift for my ‘up north’ brother-in-law and wife, both dedicated hunters, or what?” writes Audra Eddy. “Oh well, those two hunters won’t get this particular cookbook. Instead, I got to enter this contest for the very first time. Ho-ho-ho!”
