Light Up Dexter. Dec. 8, 2023. Free photos with Santa Claus at the Dexter Gazebo followed by a tree-lighting countdown led by Santa. dexterchamber.org/dexter-after-dark

Dexter Seventh Annual Ice Fest. Jan. 20, 2024. (734) 325–4030. Live ice carving demos, more than 70 ice sculptures, hot chocolate, s’mores, and a kids zone with games and entertainment, all in Monument Park. Depending on weather, sculptures remain in place for three weeks. dexterchamber.org

Dexter Art Gardens. Introduction of annual rotating exhibition of artworks selected by the Dexter Arts, Culture & Heritage Committee and the City of Dexter. The installation of chosen pieces follows in highly trafficked locations in Dexter. dextermi.gov

Paint Dexter Plein Air Festival. Aug. 12–17, 2024. Local and visiting artists work outdoors for four days in various mediums. The festival culminates with a two-day exhibit and art sale of all competition artwork in the Tent Gallery in Monument Park. paintdexter.org

Gordon Hall Days. Sept. 7 & 8, 2024, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Tours of historic Gordon Hall, model trains, car show, children’s activities, demonstrations, food, music. $5/person. dexterhistory.org

Webster Fall Festival. Sept. 28, 2024, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Cosponsored by the Webster Township Historical Society and the Webster United Church of Christ. Pulled-pork sandwiches and sides, hot dogs, blacksmithing, wool spinning, a live auction (10 a.m.), antique cars and tractors, activities for kids, farm animals, craft show, hayrides, music, and more. Apple Daze. Oct. 5, 2024, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. (734) 426–7770. Centered in Monument Park, this festival, sponsored by the Dexter Lions Club, includes an apple pie–eating contest, pumpkin bowling, a pinewood derby track, bounce houses, a scarecrow decorating contest, hayrides to the Dexter Cider Mill, a classic car show, craft booths, kids games, live entertainment, cider and candy apples for sale, and more. facebook.com/appledaze
