Join us for a relaxed candle-making workshop where beautiful scents, hands-on creation, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere come together. Laugh, connect, and enjoy the process — no experience needed.
Whether you’re coming with friends or treating yourself, this workshop is all about slowing down, creating something with your hands, and leaving with a candle you’ll love (and a great memory).

She handcrafts soy candles and other wellness products designed to support balance and self-care, and she hosts workshops that invite people to slow down, connect, and create. Based in the Ann Arbor area, Renata loves bringing people together through meaningful, hands-on experiences.

Ahead of her retirement in June 2027, U-M Landscape Architecture alumni and practitioners discuss, in 2 panel discussions, how U-M professor Joan Nassauer’s research on landscape care, aesthetics, sustainability and well-being has informed their work and shaped the profession. The dicussions highlight connections between research and practice while celebrating the ecological design accomplishments of U-M alumni and Nassauer’s more than 50 years of research, teaching, engagement and service to the field.

Making the Invisible Visible” is one of several events coordinated by Arts Healing Within & Across Communities. We offer a non-judgmental, safe space to meet and mingle with others as we explore creative responses to violence (broadly defined) as it is witnessed and/or experienced within our environments (social, natural, and built) and the stories we have inherited.
Watch scenes from Panther in the Sky written by Chicago playwright Lani T. Montreal and engage in a community conversation about the issues in the play. Take time to network with others concerned about our community. Learn about how arts can be a form of memory, resilience, resistance, and healing. Please register by Mon Sept 25 for our planning purposes.
We are reserving time for community sharing / open mic. Creatives who are interested in sharing work related to the theme “Making the Invisible Visible”, can inform us using the registration form. Visual art, photography, music, dance, are welcome, along with works from writers and poets.
The event is free and made possible with funding from the UM Arts Initiative and Institute for Firearm Injury Prevention.
