“Investigate Labs”: U-M Museum of Natural History

The newest program lets participants try out simulated snake senses to experience the world as if they were a snake. We Are Stars (noon) explores the secrets of our cosmic chemistry and our explosive origins, connecting life on Earth to the evolution of the universe; The Sky Tonight (1 & 3 p.m.) explores the current night sky, with tips on how to find the cardinal directions, constellations, and planets on your own; and T. “Paint the Town Block pARTy”: Ann Arbor Art Fair

Formerly the Townie Street Party, this popular pre–Art Fair community event now includes activities and live music throughout downtown with events along Liberty and Main. Features participatory art projects, chalk art demos (5 & 7 p.m.) by David Zinn, an instrument petting zoo (5–8 p.m.) led by members of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, pickleball courts, live music by the local classic rock band Ain’t Dead Yet, dancing to music spun by DJ Batz, a silent disco dance party with tunes transmitted to dancers’ headphones (provided), and more.
