“Paint the Town Block pARTy”: Ann Arbor Art Fair
Formerly the Townie Street Party, this popular pre–Art Fair community event now includes activities and live music throughout downtown with events along Liberty and Main. Features participatory art projects, chalk art demos (5 & 7 p.m.) by David Zinn, an instrument petting zoo (5–8 p.m.) led by members of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, pickleball courts, live music by the local classic rock band Ain’t Dead Yet, dancing to music spun by DJ Batz, a silent disco dance party with tunes transmitted to dancers’ headphones (provided), and more. Food trucks. Also “Dart for Art” (6 p.m.), a 1-mile walk/run through downtown ($30 in advance at dartforart.org & at the race; $15 for kids age 12 & under).
