In Mexican restaurant news, Taqueria La Fiesta at 4060 Packard has permanently closed its doors, consolidating with Ypsilanti parent La Fiesta Mexicana.

Farther west on Packard, a customer who found Tmaz Taqueria closed on Sunday and its website hijacked by an odd “health” site worried that it, too, might be in jeopardy. In fact, an employee explained when we called, the restaurant cut its Sunday hours during construction: they’re adding a bakery in the space adjacent to its main seating/grocery storefront. Scheduled to open this month, the bakery will sell both Mexican and American pastries. The end of Sunday hours, though, is probably permanent.

Tmaz Taqueria, 3182 Packard. 477-6089. Mon.-Sat. 6 a.m.-11 p.m., closed Sun.
