The west-side branch of Songbird Cafe reopened in February. Owner Jenny Song had closed it last June, citing staffing shortages; her original cafe on Plymouth Rd. continued to operate.
I kept driving by the closed cafe, looking for signs that it might return–or close permanently. But its espresso maker and furniture remained in place, and Song affirmed that the hiatus was temporary.
With enough people now to run its operations, the west-side Songbird is back serving five days a week, closing by late afternoon, with a slightly smaller menu than the original location.
