Central Saline still has a small-town feel, but subdivisions stretch east from Ann Arbor–Saline Rd. to US-23 and west into Lodi Township. The old village core around Michigan Ave. and Ann Arbor St. includes late 1800s and 1900s homes. Ranches and 2-stories from the 1950s to 1970s line both sides of Michigan, while subs farther out date from the 1980s and later. Country homes in nearby townships range from historic farmhouses to contemporary designs. Under development is the nearly 68-acre land preservation community of Fosdick Glen, with 34 acres of open space, high-end homes, and homesites available.
