Tim McDonald, Leslie Bricusse, and Anthony Newley’s musical, based on the Roald Dahl fantasy novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and its 1971 movie adaptation, is about a mysterious, flamboyant chocolate maker and the little boy who wins a tour of his factory.
