“Songs of the Dragon, Images of Fantasy: Music and Visual Arts Reimagined”: U-M Center for Chinese Studies

In celebration of the Lunar New Year, Chinese visual artist Zhen Guo shows her images depicting traditional Chinese dragon stories, interspersed with music by the U-M student Chinese Music Ensemble joined by guest musicians Sunhon Kim on the Korean p’iri (bamboo oboe) and Xiaodong Hottmann on the Chinese erhu (two-string fiddle). Also, today at 4 p.m., Guo gives a talk, “Meet the Artist: Rewriting Power: Zhen Guo’s Journey to Feminist Art” (2239 Lane Hall, 204 S. State). 7 p.m., East Quad Keene Theater, 701 East University.
