Paper Engineering and Pop-up Books: Cluster Museum
Learn all about paper folding and pop-up structures in this special workshop with pioneering paper artist Matt Shlian!
Participants will explore the medium of paper as they create sculptural works of art using pop-up books & paper engineering as a starting point. This includes elements of paper mechanics that can be applied to book forms, collapsible structures, and foldable sculpture.
Techniques include curve folding, pleating systems, and mechanics. Participants can bring their own imagery, photographs, etc to work from.
