“Japan Week: Sakura Japanese Instrumental Group”: Ann Arbor District Library

The local ensemble performs Japanese festival and folk music on traditional instruments, including the taiko drum and the koto, a kind of plucked zither known as Japan’s national instrument. Followed by a traditional Japanese calligraphy demonstration by Shodo calligraphy artist Kyoko Fujii and an interactive Bon Dance celebrating life and community. 6–7 p.m., AADL Downtown. Free.
