Evolution of Feedsacks to Aprons 1910's-30's via Zoom: XPressively Yours, LLC
Resourceful (typically rural women) repurposed feed/flour/sugar cotton sacks for a variety of uses (clothing, household linens, toys). In particular, these "artists" created functional aprons to protect their clothing, but many were enhanced with embroidery, appliques, binding, rick-rac, tatting, crocheting, and other embellishments. In particular, some designed unique pockets. Be amazed at these artists during the difficult social times of post-war and The Great Depression.
