“That there is the arch of the entrance to Circ and Root,” writes Monet Tiedemann. “They’ve really turned all of that into a nice space.” “The ‘Vaulted Tunnels’ refers to what used to be The Cavern Club,” writes Shannon Kohlitz, referencing the clue. “I think it’s called something different now but I’m not cool enough to know anymore lol,” she remarks. “I have fond memories of the … ‘vaulted tunnels’ in the early 90s,” shares Spencer Thomas, referring to what is now Root.
“206–210 S. First,” says Susan Wineberg, was originally “the site of the City Brewery (hence the lagering vaults.)” Now it “is the courtyard next to Circ Bar,” writes Bailey Hulswit, “the historic site of the Central Mills.” It’s “still sporting the [historic] signage,” writes Barb Tester.
“The ornate archway and suspended lights were the give-aways” for Mary Adams and her husband. What caught Tester’s eye was “the corner of the building mural … by artist Gary Horton.”
“It’s called ‘Not Afraid to Dance,’” writes David Karl, and “was unveiled at the same time the bar opened” in 2018.
