Though there are many newer homes in the area, the city has managed to maintain its small-town feel. Small postwar Cape Cods serve as starter homes among Dexter’s contemporary ranches and historic showpieces. Subdivisions within the city limits include Dexter Crossing, Huron Farms, Arlington Woods, and Westridge. Old and new subdivisions, many with 1-acre and larger lots, are in the townships surrounding the city.
