The owners of the former Ding Tea boba shop on E. William have expanded into the neighboring storefront and opened a franchise of Paris Banh Mi.

Phong “Frank” Dinh, one of the partners, says the combined space seats seventy-two in a remodeled 3,700-square-foot café. It still offers bubble tea and coffee drinks, but its menu now includes a dozen different Vietnamese sandwiches served on baguettes and croissants baked fresh daily. There’s also three varieties of phở (beef broth noodle soup), as well as Korean corn dogs, egg rolls, spring rolls, yogurts, and smoothies.

Dinh, who emigrated from Vietnam in 2006, expects the French-influenced cuisine will be popular. “Most of the people, most students over here, they know very well about Vietnamese,” he says.
