The playful downtown gift shop Rock Paper Scissors has nearly doubled its floor space after the recent departure of the neighboring Laurel & Jack clothing boutique. The expansion allows for additional inventory display, particularly children’s books and toys, since RPS closed its two sister stores in Saline over the summer.
Laurel & Jack maintains four shops in the Grand Rapids area. Owner Jaclyn Yared didn’t respond to messages seeking comment as of press time. Their Ann Arbor storefront, which opened in 2022, was accessible from the lobby of the multi-tenant space at 214 S. Main., but RPS has opened up a wall to connect it to the space they’ve occupied since 2012.
