Washtenaw Conserved Farm Tours: Washtenaw County Conservation District
Tours of 3 farms in celebration of the Washtenaw County Natural Areas Preservation Program’s protection of over 17,500 acres of county farmland. Choose 1, 2, or all three tours. The Brines Farm (9–11 a.m., 6384 Walsh, Whitmore Lake) tour highlights market gardens and vegetable production and includes a guided nature walk or a forest management discussion. The Vestergaard Farm (12:30–2:30 p.m., 1320 S. Wagner) tour focuses on farmland conservation and community gardens, and includes a walk in the woods. The Annie G’s Dairy (3-5 p.m., 6130 Pleasant Lake Rd., Lodi Twp.) tour features a milking operation and pasture with rotational grazing. Bring sun & bug protection, as well as water. Tours involve walking over uneven terrain. 9 a.m.–5 p.m., multiple locations. Free; registration required at washtenawcd.org/events.
