“The Many Colors of Christmas”: The Willis Patterson Our Own Thing Chorale
Brian E. Buckner directs this popular local choir in Christmas spirituals, seasonal works by African American composers, and other holiday favorites, including William Dawson’s “Behold the Star” and a soulful arrangement of the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah that’s infused with elements of spirituals, blues, ragtime, and hip-hop.
