“The Convent”: U-M Theatre Department
Nov. 20–23. Halena Kays directs drama students in award-winning American playwright Jessica Dickey’s 2020 dark comedy about a group of modern women on a retreat at a medieval convent in the south of France. An enigmatic abbess urges them to assume the identities of different Christian mystic women and take a hallucinogenic concoction which prompts each to reveal repressed secrets.
