“The CCC Circus: The Goodest Show?”: Children’s Creative Center

Aug. 7–11. Gayle Martin, Laurie Atwood, and Abby Vermeulen direct local kids in their original musical production, loosely based on Michael Gracey’s 2017 musical film The Greatest Showman and Emily Arnold McCully’s picture book Mirette on the High Wire, about a group of students who put on a circus to save their school. The Aug. 9 performance is followed by a post-performance reception ($100 suggested donation; reservations required at childrenscreativecenter.org) with food & drink from local restaurants TBA. Proceeds benefit Friends of CCC, which assists homeless and disadvantaged families with child care costs. 7 p.m. (Wed.–Sat.) & 2 p.m. (Sun.), Children’s Creative Center, 1600 Pauline. Tickets pay what you can in advance at childrenscreativecenter.org and at the door. (734) 769–0019.
