“Rick Roe Plays the Music of Gregg Hill”: Kerrytown Concert House
Straight-ahead jazz pianist Rick Roe leads a trio that includes bassist Robert Hurst and drummer Nate Winn in a performance of Roe’s arrangements of the music of Gregg Hill, a Lansing jazz composer whose music incorporates ideas from blues and swing, using modern harmony, memorable melodies, and distinctive rhythms that give musicians interesting material with which to improvise. 7:30 p.m., KCH, 415 N.
