Kemp Powers: U-M Hopwood Awards Program

This Golden Globe Awardwinning and Oscar-nominated screenwriter and director delivers the keynote lecture highlighting the annual awards ceremony recognizing the winners of the prestigious U-M contest for graduate and undergraduate poetry, fiction, and nonfiction writing. Followed by a Q&A and signing. Also, tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. in the Rackham Amphitheatre, Powers discusses and shows clips from his work, including One Night in Miami, Soul, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, moderated by Jim Burnstein, director of U-M’s screenwriting program. 5:30–7 p.m., Rackham Auditorium.
