Awarding of the Wallenberg Medal to Vladimir Kara-Murza, a Russian opposition politician released from a maximum-security Siberian prison in a 2024 prisoner exchange. The Wallenberg Lecture honors the memory of Swedish diplomat Raoul Wallenberg, a U-M alum who saved thousands of Hungarian Jews from the Nazis, only to be arrested by the Russians and vanish into the Soviet Gulag. 4:30–6 p.m., Rackham Auditorium.
