Formosa Quartet | blueish groove: EMU School of Music & Dance

Get ready for an unforgettable evening! On Monday, December 8 at 7:00 PM in Alexander Recital Hall, the acclaimed Formosa Quartet takes the stage with 'blueish groove'—a vibrant program infused with the spirit of American Creole tradition, blues, jazz, and folk.

Hailed by BBC Radio as “just gorgeous” and "spellbinding" by The STRAD, the Formosa Quartet's performances go “beyond the beautiful and into the territory of unexpectedly thrilling… like shots of pure espresso" (MUSO Magazine). This will be an electrifying night of storytelling.

This special program includes Wynton Marsalis’ dazzling “At the Octoroon Balls” as well as the world premiere of brand-new arrangements by FQ's own Jasmine Lin and David Bernat, and cellist of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Jeremy Crosmer!
