“Coincident Dances”: U-M Symphony Band
Jason Fettig and student conductors lead this music student ensemble in a band arrangement of Bartók’s Dance Suite, Bernstein’s Prelude, Fugue, and Riffs, and U-M jazz professor Ellen Rowe’s arrangement of Rodgers and Hart’s My Funny Valentine. Also, dance-inspired works by contemporary American composers, including Warren Benson’s Solitary Dancer, Donald Grantham’s J’ai ‘ete au Bal, and Jesse Montgomery’s Coincident Dances.
