Every day, May 1–June 21. Three pianos painted by U-M students are available at different locations throughout Ann Arbor for anyone to play an impromptu concert. On May 1, world-renowned local boogie-woogie & blues pianist Mark “Mr. B” Braun plays a concert at each of the 3 locations. Also, scheduled concerts by local pianists TBA every Wednesday and Saturday (see a2sf.org). The project culminates with a grand finale piano trio performance on June 21 at Top of the Park. Docudrama about a Jewish boy escaping Nazi persecution in Eastern Europe. “The Devil’s Confession: The Lost Eichmann Tapes” (Yariv Mozer, 2022). Documentary that reveals recently rediscovered transcripts in which Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann boasts to a Nazi Dutch journalist about his role in planning and executing the Holocaust. Shelby Seeley directs the Michigan premiere of Will Snider’s 2019 two-character drama about an American engineer and a Kenyan taxi driver who strike up a friendship and embark on a project to change rural Kenya. When circumstances in the region become tense, the integrity of their alliance comes into question. The play examines the limits of good works and of interpersonal understanding. The class includes a combination of history and stories, technique instruction, and hands-on making of cocktails. Plus sampling, of course!
