Annual Huron River Day: Ann Arbor Parks & Recreation
This popular festival features lots of family-oriented nature activities, including children’s art and science activities, 30-minute guided nature walks, a display of animals from the Leslie Science & Nature Center, and more. Live music: Hullabaloo (noon), a veteran local 9-piece collective whose energetic music draws on ska, jazz, funk, punk, and Latin influences. Pontiac Trail Blazers (1:20 p.m.), a local bluegrass quartet known for its beautiful vocal harmonies and instrumental prowess. Flute Circle Group (2:45 p.m.), which has not yet found a name for its performing ensemble. Gemini (3 p.m.), the veteran local acoustic duo of twin brothers Sandor and Laszlo Slomovits whose repertoire includes sing-alongs, folk songs from around the world, and upbeat originals.
