Brothers Naz and Pulla Algehaim recently opened Goodlyfe Smoothie in Arbor Square Plaza at Carpenter and Ellsworth. It’s their fourth fast-casual eatery, following others in Belleville, Canton, and Clarkston.

Naz tells the Observer that the pair helped operate their family’s various Coney Island restaurants before launching their own healthier concept in 2020.

He says that favorites include the Mediterranean bowl ($10.99) and wrap ($8.59), both featuring feta cheese, hummus, tomato, avocado, spinach, and marinated halal chicken. Among the twenty-one smoothie options, the Green Joy (spinach, kale, apple, mango, pineapple, banana, kiwi) and Creamy Peanut Butter (with strawberries, banana, nonfat yogurt, and choice of protein) are the most popular, he reports.

“Everything’s fresh, it’s good for you, and our prices are very decent,” Naz offers.
