We received 161 entries correctly identifying last month’s Fake Ad, which featured an old joke about accountants being dull. “The Fake Ad is ‘Choose boring’ on page 81,” writes one Fake Adder. “I’ve already sent a picture to my CPA sister. I hope she will appreciate the humor, but then again, she is a CPA.”

“Accounting dull and boring? Hmm, that’s quite subjective,” writes Dean Draayer. “Dull is for pencils and boring is for drills. And the woman’s doctor? A wise quack indeed! She needs a second opinion, not an accountant.”

Bob Maddox writes, “Having worked as an accountant, I’m not sure how to take this ad.

“You cleverly worked in the past winner as ‘HOW. See (aka ‘C’)? ROFT.’ You threw in T.D. US… (tedious), and misled us to E. Main Street.”

“As an actuarial science undergrad, I would tell people ‘accountants make fun of actuaries for being boring,’” writes Julian Carrasquillo. “That joke may have been the reason I never got into the field.”

Our drawing winner was Cheryl Gibbs. She is taking her gift certificate to Zingerman’s.
