We received forty-three entries correctly identifying the Fake Ad in the Fall Community Observer.

“The fake ad is on page 29 of The Community Observer,” wrote Larry Hieber. “It’s about the Southeastern Michigan Trout Council fundraiser. I hate to inform you that I.P. Dailey won’t be able to give his presentation on Sunday, September 31. There are only 30 days in the month of September the last time I looked. Also there is no Books without Borders store in Saline. The address is also wrong. The last time I checked, there is no 2642 S. Michigan Ave.”

The date was also a clue for Michael Bleed, whose name would present all sorts of creative possibilities if he ever wins. “It took me awhile to find this one,” Bleed gushed (see what we did there?), “but finally clued in with the fake date of Sept 31st!”

And Gerald R. Smith of Chelsea picked up on the fishing theme. “I caught this one quickly as it jumped out like a spawning salmon,” he wrote.

Our winner was Joan Kelley of Saline. She’s taking her gift certificate to Common Grill.
