Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming opened October 23 in the former Sport Clips spot on Ann Arbor–Saline Rd. in front of Meijer. It’s the second of what will be at least six Michigan locations for franchisees Victoria and Cameron MacKellar of Northville, where their first dog boutique and spa opened last December.

“Once we heard of the concept, and just the level of service that it provides, and really making pets and pet parents feel special, we knew from right then we had to sign up. We had to bring it to Michigan,” says Victoria, who was looking for meaningful self-employment after a career in the automotive industry.

The bright-pink boutique features all-natural, single-ingredient treats (chicken chips are the top seller), dog food, toys, accessories, seasonal cookies, and a table devoted to “everything that you need to throw your dog a little special day for their birthday,” she says.

Coincidentally, a twenty-four-hour emergency veterinary hospital, VEG ER for Pets, expects to open October 30 in the neighboring suite. MacKellar has already been networking.

“I think there’s going to be a lot of partnership that we can do with them,” she says.
