“Weathering Winter: How Our Animal Neighbors Conquer the Cold”: U-M Museum of Natural History Science Café/Conor O’Neill’s Irish Pub

U-M Museum of Zoology mammals collection manager Cody Thompson describes the wide range of mammals who hibernate or go through a type of semi-hibernation called “torpor,” and U-M evolutionary biology professor Ben Dantzer discusses the behavior and physiology of hibernation and other winter adaptations, as well as his research on campus squirrels.
