University Philharmonia Orchestra: U-M Music School

Jayce Ogren leads this music student ensemble in a series of symphonic tone poems, including contemporary American composer Sarah Kirkland Snider’s ocean-inspired Marmoris, Respighi’s The Fountains of Rome, and 19th-century Czech composer Bedřich Smetana’s ode to his native Prague, The Moldau, along with contemporary American composer Mason Bates’s Liquid Interface, an innovative symphony for electronica and orchestra that incorporates house & techno rhythms. 8 p.m., Hill Auditorium.
