“Fight Night”: Ontroerend Goed (University Musical Society)
Sept. 25–29. This pioneering Belgian theater company explores themes of free will and electoral politics in a theatrical political contest. Each performance takes a different trajectory, depending on audience choices via handheld electronic voting devices. A hit at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, this work has been reimagined for its 2024 run. Without political messages or discernable ideology, the work explores the motivations behind voting behavior. It is a “collective experience that felt somehow invigorating,” according to a Vancouver Presents reviewer. 7:30 p.m. (Wed.-Sat.) & 2 p.m. (Sat. & Sun.), Power Center.
