“Celebrating Lars Bjorn”: Kerrytown Concert House
A lineup of well-known area jazz musicians, including bassist Paul Keller, pianist Adam Mosley, guitarist Ralph Tope, drummer Jesse Kramer, and others, performs in honor of Detroit jazz historian Lars Bjorn. Bjorn has been widely celebrated, together with coauthor Jim Gallert, for Before Motown, the first major history of jazz in Detroit, and is the longtime president of the Southeastern Michigan Jazz Association (SEMJA). 4 p.m., 415 N.
