Jan. 25 & 29: “Aida.” Live (Sat.) & prerecorded (Wed.) broadcasts of the Metropolitan Opera’s new production of Verdi’s celebrated opera, a drama set in ancient Egypt about an enslaved Ethiopian princess caught in a love triangle with a heroic young Egyptian warrior desired by the pharaoh’s daughter. Stars acclaimed soprano Angel Blue in her long-awaited Met debut in the title role. Sung in Italian with English subtitles. 12:30 p.m. (Sat.) and 1 & 6:30 p.m. (Wed., Ann Arbor 20 only).
