Hash Bash event coordinator Jamie Lowell is part of the group that has purchased the Green Planet dispensary, which closed last year after thirteen years. It recently reopened as Meds Cafe, which has seven locations, all in Michigan.
The company’s operations manager and a longtime cannabis advocate, Lowell will be based at the shop located between U-M’s law and business schools.
He’s been hosting Sunday afternoon jam sessions outside, while the herbal offerings inside are priced on a dynamic model based on freshness and dispensed “deli style,” he tells the Observer. “People really do like seeing it, smelling it, seeing weighed out what they’re actually buying,” he says.
