Forget German cars and fur coats: I’m congratulating myself on where I am in life by ordering gourmet dinner, waiting for me on my porch when I get home. Thought about it for a while, but what’s making me act is the new Juicy Kitchen service http://www.juicykitchen-a2.com/ which promises-super healthy menus prepared by chef and personal trainer Susan Todoroff. She explains:

“I don’t rely on gimmicky things like sneaking veggies into desserts, but use naturally healthy ingredients like natural sweeteners (agave nectar, ripe bananas) rather than processed white sugar, and a minimal amount of healthy fats like extra virgin olive and coconut oil, known for their health benefits. I use all whole grains rather than processed white flour, and rely on ingredients like different kinds of vinegars, mustards and homemade vegetable stock to add deep flavors. I use no butter and very little salt, and the results are delicious.”

Prices seem pretty reasonable. What I’ve ordered for Wednesday delivery is:

1 Turkey Veggie Meatloaf W/Roasted Red Pepper Sauce $12
1 Lentil Apple Loaf W/Roasted Red Pepper Sauce – Vegan $11
1 White Bean & Roasted Tomato Soup – Vegetarian $8

Tune back in next week and I’ll tell you how it is!
